ONE WEEK LEFT!
I cannot even believe that I am saying this ... but only 1 week left in my Quest to become the Woman of the Year and raise money benefitting the Luekemia and Lymphoma society.
And last week ... WHAT A WEEK!
First I had the MOST AMAZING DINNER EVER! How many of you can say that you have had dinner with the group that introduced you to your Best Friend over 30 YEARS AGO! Sara Morris and I have known each other virtually FOREVER. We were introduced by our grandparents. Since my grandparents were in town we decided to get both groups together ( and although Nana was not there in body I am sure she was with us in spirit! )
Believe it or not that introduction 30 years ago helpped to plant the seed for this journey - because we would not know it at that time but Sara (more than me) and I would be greatly touched by blood cancers. I know that next weekend Jane will have a front row seat from above to see what we have done over these 9 weeks.
That dinner led into an amazing wedding weekend ... and then the great gift of life as my Family welcomed Graham Matthew Smith on Monday Morning. Weighing in at 8LBS - 3 LBs under his big brother Masons birth weight. Everyone is doing well. Though Mason did walk into school and when he was asked if he had a new baby brother his answer was " NO I got a new baseball mitt!" hmmmm.
Yesterday my week "ended" with a brillant breakfast with Luke. He, 2 of his sisters, and his mom and dad met me and my sister for breakfast bright and early. I know how hectic their schedules are but they are amazing amazing amazing people and have helped to make every single hour that I have put into this campaign SO worthwhile.
So although this seed of passion for helping those with cancer was planted in my many many moons ago, I have definitely seen it grow over these last few weeks. I could not have done it without the kind words and hard work of many of you out there. I truly do appreciate it!
If you have not had a chance to donate please do here. I will keep you posted on this final stretch.
